It's been so'ooooooooo long since the last wind I thought I'd forgotton how to do it !!!! So more in desparation than hope of a good sail I headed for the dip with the wind in the north being not the best offshore direction - nw is better.It was difficult to judge the wind strength from the sheltered beach so settled for 8.5 on the longboard which was okay.I headed off to Bawdsey bay then turned and reached nearly 9 miles to the mudflats below Dovercourt then beat back in in increasing wind and sea past the boats pumping shingle on the beach and the rock boats !!! A good 2hrs 32 min on the water.
